Contusion Injury

Contusion injuries are the result of bleeding within the tissues without the skin being broken.  The bleeding under the skin in the tissues is the result of a rupture of the small capillaries that supply blood to the muscles and other tissues.  Contusions are normally a serious injury unless the person has a blood clotting disorder that will result in uncontrolled internal bleeding.  also those people who are on anti-coagulants and blood thinners should seek medical help if they get a contusion as they are at increased risk of serious bleeding internally from a contusion.
