Other changes will be brought on in your life when you decide to quit smoking. Smoking is a very addictive habit, which means that it is very difficult to quit. You will experience many changes taking place in your life when deciding to stop smoking, therefore exercise can be a great help to you when quitting.
Try setting a routine such as working out or attending the gym. If it is not possible for you to do that, then try waking up a little bit earlier in the morning and going for a short walk. If that walk can be turned into a jog, then this will be very stimulating and a great way to start your day.
It is essential to remember that exercise does not mean that you have to pump iron. If you do not have the time to attend the gym every day, then it is not a great problem, as you can work out at home.
Whether you choose to workout at the gym or at home, it is important to remember that regularity is certainly the key. Becoming motivated to exercise is not the issue, it is remaining to be motivated that is the most important thing.
Certain people have a very good start. They purchase tracksuits, gym wear, running shoes and many other items, so that there first day at the gym is a special occasion. However, as the days and weeks pass, they find that it is a great demand and their routine will slow down and finally come to a complete stop.
Choosing the evenings to exercise is a great mistake which many people make. However, if evenings suit your lifestyle, then that is absolutely fine. However, for most people the evenings are a time when they are completely worn out, drained and too tired to exercise. Therefore, it is always recommended to set aside a certain amount of time in the morning to undertake exercise.
If possible, get up half an hour earlier in the morning, put on your running shoes and hit the road. The advantage of this also, is that most roads are much more quiet in the morning, which makes them less polluted and a great way to start the day.
Coffee is something which you should try to steer clear of. Try drinking a cup of tea instead. Try playing some music if you are moving around in the house. Try redecorating a room with a few pictures etc. It is essential that when redecorating, you remove anything that reminds you of smoking.
Make plans whereby you will have something fun to do at the end of the day. It does not necessarily need to involve money, as you do not want to end up bankrupt. For example, spend time with the family, play games, or go for a walk with your family.
One thing which certainly does not fit into the list of things to do, is sitting and watching the television. You need to be doing activities that demand your attention and television really is not one of them.
It is also recommended to make a list of all of the things that build up your stress levels, and then try to avoid all of those certain things. If this is not possible, then it is important to attempt to find a way to break that stress and then follow those rules. Whatever it is that you do, you should not use, under any circumstances, stress as an excuse to begin smoking.
Beating stress can be done by so many different methods. Breathing exercises, meditation or even music can all be tried. A distressing ball is also another great way of relieving stress. If you do not have access to a stress ball, then you can always try wiggling your fingers and toes, which is another great and natural way to beat stress.
