Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus
Origin: Lateral supracondylar ridge and lateral epicondyle of the humerus
Insertion: Base of the 2nd metacarpal
Nerve: Radial nerve (C6, C7)
Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus when acting alone extends the wrist in a radial direction. Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus is quite long, starting on the lateral side of the humerus, and attaching to the base of the 2nd metacarpal. this muscle consists mostly of tendon and the bulk of the muscle lies proximal to the elbow.
