  • Superior: towards the head or the upper part of the structure you are talking about
  • Interior: away from the head or the lower part of the Structure you are a talking about
  • Anterior: closer to the front of the body
  • Posterior: closer to the Back of the body
  • Medial: close to the middle of the body
  • Lateral: further from the middle of the body
  • Proximal: closer to where the limb attaches to the trunk, also closer to the point of origin or begining
  • Distal: further away from where the limb attaches to the trunk or further away from the origin or begining
  • Frontal: front of the body
  • Dorsal: back of the body
  • Superficial: Near or on the Surface of the body
  • Deep: away from the Surface of the body
