One of the most innovative ways to exercise is by using exercise balls. These balls come in different shapes and colors, therefore they are certain to catch everyone’s eye. The exercise ball was first introduced by a group of Swiss medical therapists and they are extremely beneficial due to them providing support during exercise.

By using an exercise ball during your workout, you will strengthen and tone all of the major muscles of the body. It is an ideal selection for yoga positions, whilst using dumbbells for the toning of the muscles, or working on heavy duty weight training equipment, as the exercise ball has a soft texture.

Exercise balls have the advantage of being durable and they also maintain their shape when under pressure. With every exercise ball that it purchased, there is documentation included which provides test load figures to establish how much weight the exercise balls will hold. The advantage of using an exercise ball is that they offer soft yet firm support which does not harm the body.

As stated above, exercise balls are available in several different colors and finishes. It is even possible to purchase a ball that matches your décor. They can be stored easily by simply rolling them under a bed or a table. Because they are so durable, it is possible for the children to play with it when you are not working out.

The exercise ball was originally designed for the use in medical therapy, to support the body during exercise. When using an exercise ball, your body will be provided with the relevant support when you undergo a particular exercise in a specific position, whilst at the same time maintaining the correct balance. Most exercise balls are manufactured using burst proof latex or other material that is highly safe to use.

Support is something which is essential for many yoga positions together with muscle toning exercises. An exercise ball is ideal for these particular postures. The exercise ball provides an element of stability which cannot normally be found with floor exercise.

The body automatically responds to the instability to maintain sufficient balance on the exercise ball. They in turn assist the strengthening of the muscles that are not actively participating in exercise.

Exercise balls are also very useful for physiotherapy treatment. They will assist in eliminating backache and spinal disorders. Due to the small range of movement along with adjustment of balance of the spine that is induced by exercising with the ball will help to reduce back pain.

The Swiss ball exercise is for those individuals with back pain, which provides them with a simple way to restore movement after an episode of back pain. This also results in the improvement of muscle strength along with greater flexibility and a wide range of motion of the spine during treatment..
